Dubai businessman offered Dubai Municipality one million dirhams for a fish, which is believed to carry holy markings of the word ‘Allah’ in Arabic. Mohammad Julfar, Dubai Municipality’s Assistant Director of Financial Affairs said the man wanted to display the fish in his home. “We didn’t even entertain the offer because this fish is truly priceless and unique and anyone should be able to see it,” Julfar told 7DAYS.
Over the next few days, the fish will be displayed at the entrance of the Municipality building in Deira for all visitors to enjoy. “The fish is preserved and it will be moved to a proper museum as soon as we arrange a space for it,” Julfar said.
