Film prompts Husband to Murder Wife
A 22-year-old man was Wednesday arrested on charges of murdering his wife after watching "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna" in sector 32-A of Noida, a satellite town of the national capital.
According to the police, Deepak Sharma took his wife to the theatre and after watching the movie he stabbed her with a knife and then tried to crush her face using a stone.
The plot of the film is based on an extra-marital affair.
Police said Deepak suspected that Kavita, his wife, had an affair with his brother.
Police said Kavita's family members alleged that Deepak had demanded dowry from them and since they were unable to give the money, he murdered her.
"We have arrested the man and investigating the case to find the actual cause of murder," said a senior police official.
