BEST FRIEND

When there's just one square
of chocolate left...
she shares,
she gives me half.

When thunder growls likie an angry bear
and I shiver and shake
beneath my chair...
she won't laugh.

When I am grumpy or cross
or spotty or sad,
when I whine or boss..
she stays.

When things aren't fair
and I hurt inside,
when I just want to hide...
she's there,
always.

Remembrance

So Much to do, so much to see, so much
to love, so much to understand, so much to
be just me, maybe I'll just rest awhile..

So much to write, so much to bear, so much
to be without, so much to read, so much I have
not seen, maybe I'll just rest awhile..

So much I have missed, so much to sing,
so many memories I forgot to remember
when I smiled last, maybe I'll just rest
awhile..

So much work, so much worry, so much
nonsense, so much concern for my
fellowman, maybe I'll just rest awhile..

So much of so much, that when so much
comes my way, so much seems to fly
over my head, maybe I'll just rest awhile..

Now so many clouds I see, so many
stars shining way to bright, so many
worlds in the solar system, maybe I'll
just rest awhile..

Now to many stairs to climb to heaven,
Oh Lord, let me rest awhile..
